When you next walk through a city, town, sidewalk of any kind, whether it be busy or not, I want you to make an observation.
Take a look around you. How many people are happy? Or how many appear to be happy?
How many are sad, angry, tired, harassed, any of those emotions we just don’t want to have to deal with?
The reason I ask this is because of what has been happening lately. The increasing violence, the lack of respect and the apparent disregard for others.
The world that we experience is made up mostly of us. That is you, me, the person who lives across the street and plenty of others that we have to talk to, interact with & Basically Be around every day. Yet we still cannot grasp that others deserve our respect.
Now, some of you may ask why we should give someone respect. After all, we don’t know them. they have never helped us or done anything for us that should earn that, so why should we allow it to them? Is respect not something that should be earned, rather than presumed?
You know what? The answer is NO. You don’t have to earn basic respect from others and they should not have to earn yours. there seems to be a certain code amongst people these days that you deserve to be able to do what you want to whoever you want without any consequences. This is simply bullshit.
There is an old saying in Wicca, that I think has been diluted over the past years. The saying is simply you have the rght to do whatever you want, as long as it does not harm others. This is the part that i think has been edited throughout. Instead of this people think they have the right to do whatever they want. Without even caring what others think, feel, etc.
I want you to think about your next actions as though you were on the receiving end. Is that person wearing something you don’t think fits in? If so, is it worth smiling or laughing at? How would you feel if someone walked past & Laughed at what you were wearing, simply because it is not their taste? Or because they thought you looked silly? It would hurt. So why are you hurting other people?
When it comes to violence, the way I see it, you have no rights. You NEVER have the right to throw the first punch. You NEVER have the right to push or shove someone because you don’t like what they say or do. You have the right to stand up & face them & say that that is not right, But if more people started facing the simplistic values of whatever you do SHOULD NOT HARM OTHERS, I can see a lot less of the needless & Senseless violence 7 hate happening. Learn that others have the right to do what they want when they want & if it does not directly affect you, then what do you have to do with it?
Nothing.
